Dad’s Birthday
Yesterday being my dad’s birthday, I was hoping to celebrate. Instead, I spent the entire morning and afternoon trying to get my car fixed. So that meant no going to work, no going anywhere. Yuck. So I didn’t get to go out for ice cream.
In place of that: My friend Rachael came by to help me out with my car troubles, and as I was pulling out my jumper cables, I found one of my dad’s 2nd place medals from a race he’d run about thirty years ago. Dad gave me a present.
Well, after all of my friends’ help and advice, I still had to get my car towed to a repair shop, but it fixed by 6:30! So, I stopped by Cami and Rachael’s to say hello. I was surprised to be greeted by Doctor Clint (who I haven’t seen in over a year). We all talked and shared photos and then Rachael made my evening by serving me some ice cream. I got to celebrate the way I wanted to after all.
Isn’t it great to get little pearls of happiness like that handed to you from time to time?
